OpenID Added
Welp, I’ve decided to add OpenID support to the site for commenting so it’ll bypass moderation for spam. When using an OpenID, there’s no need to fill out any of the fields other then just the OpenID URL/Email and the comment you want to leave. Most OpenID’s will send over the username you’d like to use and so it’ll show the username instead (like MyOpenID.com) but others will just use the URL (like Live Journal). To ensure you put down a username you’d like, fill out the name part as well, it’ll get overwritten if the OpenID provider you’re using sends an username anyways.
Still trying to figure out how to add facebook and a few other site’s support on it, though.

Ah, it did not take my full name from OpenID. Using WP-OpenID, I presume? It has problems…
It does take full names but it all depends on how the full/nick name comes through (tested with MyOpenID.com, just typed in my OpenID URL and it filled everything else in for me). Which is why I would probably type in a name in the Name field anyways just to be sure, it’ll automatically get overridden anyways if it does pass the name through.
The idea is not to have to enter anything else, but your OpenID. Mine, for example, provides all SREG (Simple Registration) fields (including DOB, gender, zip code, etc). For some reason, WP-OpenID will not use those. I have queried the developers, getting a mute answer.
That is true, but it does work perfectly fine with just the OpenID when using MyOpenID.com in my testing. If there’s another plugin that you know of that I can use for only auto approving comments when someone uses an OpenID that supports everything, please let me know and I’ll switch over to that instantly.

There are a number of plugins that support OID and Facebook, etc look in the plugin repository on http://www.wordpress.org, in fact if you’re current on your updates do it from your CP.
