I hate you with passion

Submitted by on August 19, 2005 – 3:13 am

Hate is in the air, and it’s all wind down to this: morons.

I was looking around on eBay and an item cought my eye. Knowing me, I started reading the guys feedback rating. A lot of +’s and a pinch of -‘s and so I always browse to read the negs. Oh boy, I really do find this funny, a lot of feedbacks has been withdrawn because the buyer was really stupid but had enough currage to agree with the seller to withdrawn the rating (which is always good, don’t want to fuck up the other guys feedback). Anyways, reading it, I see some people post about it taking up to a month and a half to have the item delevered and what not. Now, if you don’t know how shipping works and how long it takes when you use the cheapest one, then you are really a moron. The seller was located in Hong Kong and so a delievery from Hong Kong to somewhere in the middle of US well take quite a while, sometimes up to a month (sometimes longer) because of Customs and what not. If the seller shipped it though EMS, it would of been a little bit faster but the buyer well still have to wait quite a while… Shit, this one mag I have a monthly subscription with takes like 3 weeks before I get from when it was released and paided for because it’s shipped from Japan (although I can’t read a lick of kanji).

I’ve so seen someone say that the item was too expensive and so I guess he never paid up or something. morons.

Anyways, I just wanna give you all one pice of advice for everyone who uses eBay or those who are planning how using eBay.

1) Check where the item is going to be sending from. If you don’t know where that is, look right in the item page, on top, below the “Bid now” or “Buy Now” button till you see “Item Location”
2) Check sellers feedback. Always make sure the seller has more +’s then -‘s… sometimes you’ll see a seller that has 2K +’s and like 50 -‘s because those 50 users are dumb enough to not even e-mail the seller first.
3) Read EVERYTHING on the page. Read what kind of ways he’ll take for reviceing payments, what the shipping is, etc.
4) E-mail the seller about the item if you want to know more about it, or more about different ways of shipping.
5) Only bid how much you’re willing to pay plus S&H. Don’t be stupid and bid 1K for an item that’s only worth 20 bucks, because some people well be desprent enough to bid big too. It’s like a contract that you have to abid (you won’t believe some stories I’ve heard where they bid big because they figured no one well bid for it and they get fucked because they now have to pay 10 times the ammount).
6) After you win, you can use the defaut shipping medtiod the seller is profiding and ask for an invoice (which I always do to make sure how much I’m paying) or, if you want a different shipping medited, e-mail the seller for a quote on how much it’ll be to ship it though a different carryer. Also asked for a tracking number (which most sellers provide to you after they ship the item) if they’re located clear accross contrey.
7) If the seller been keeping in touch with you with the whole progress of your item, then you know your dealing with a good seller. If a seller just give you the basic (“this is how much you’ll have to pay”, “As of such and such, your item has been sent”), then your dealing with an alright seller. But no matter who the might be, always keep copies of your e-mail (they could be quite useful if something happens). If the seller haven’t e-mailed you for a few days after you send him the payment, e-mail him. Sometimes some sellers forget to e-mail the buyer back when they shipped the item or some just figures that you don’t need a reply when they send it.
8) Depending where you are located and where the seller is located, wait. If you and the seller is located within the US, wait for about 7 postal days from when it was sent. If the seller is located out of the US, depending on the shipping medited choosen, wait up to a month (btw… if you don’t know what postal days are, it’s Mon-Sat).
9) After waiting X amount of days/weeks, and item not arived, e-mail the seller about it. Also use the tracking number the seller provided you with (that is, if the seller provided you with one) to check where it is. A lot of sellers well refund the money for items that are lost in the mail or there might be a small delay.
10) After reciving the item, make sure it’s what you pay for and make sure nothing’s broken. If everything is great, leave a + feedback. If it’s not what you pay for (like, wrong item) or there’s damages, e-mail the seller. If it’s the wrong item, the seller well more likely ask for you to send the item back and he’ll send out the correct one. If it’s damage, he’ll ask if you want to exchange. Either way you can ask for your money back if you want.
11) If you get no replys from the seller once you reviced the item (the one that wasn’t the correct one) or if you never reviced the item and the seller isn’t contacting you back, e-mail eBay. Let them look into it. Also leave a neg feedback… but, please only do this if you don’t get a reply after a few days of sending an e-mail. The sellers do have personal life and so it does take them a while to get back to some people.

If you follow this steps, everything in life well be alright. BTW, make sure the seller has your correct e-mail address and make sure you check your spam box. Number 1 reason why so many great sellers have bad feedback is because the buyer is too stupid to check there spam box when the seller is actually TRYING to e-mail the buyer (which reminds me, if your spam fiter is set to just delete spam, make sure you turn that option off because you may never know, spam fiters aren’t perfert).
