Wow, I feel stupid
Wow, yeah, I feel really stupid…. Have you ever did something a long time ago that is so simple that you haven’t played with something for so long you just forget that something that’s so simple? I have.
My mom recevied an wire linksys router from the IT guy from work so she could get onto there networks so she could do her work on there without the need of dialing in. Because of how they have there side set up, that router MUST be used in order to connect to whatever she needed to connect to. There was 2 ways of setting it up, either set that new router as a slave and have my mom have to put a physical connection to it or set that router to master and my mom has a choice in either physically connect to it or wirelessly, so I choosed the 2nd, of course… but here’s where I felt stupid…. Early in the day, the IT guy came to talk to me about something and then leaves, then I had some questions going though my head so I e-mailed him about it (from my understanding, they were already gone by the time I sent the e-mail), one about having to use a crossover cable or not and another about ip addressing (my wireless router is set up as 2.1 instead of 1.1 like any normal routers)… but when I got home, I got stright to work and plugged it in like I would if I was connecting a computer to it and it came to me… this is 2 consumer routers I’m putting together, no wonder it’s working…
Yes, with my stupidity, I actually forgotten that the 2 routers I’m using is consumer routers, not professional routers where you have to telnet into or connect through a console port and telling it which port the internet is coming from and which addressing scame to use… I also forgot that it doesn’t matter how the ip addressing is set as long as the 2 routers can communitate with each other…
Actually, now that I think about it, I’m going to blame work for making me forget!!
Speaking of work, gezz, I swear, my boss relays on me too much. I mean, I know how to do a lot more stuff then Edward! Having to do suspens, and going to have log in files for 2 days starting this friday, having to do iron mt. shit, all on top of doing what I’m supposed to be doing! Luckly, my boss was out yesterday and today so me and Edward pretty much took it easy while doing some work.
Another thing, that I find funny, is that I put in a suspends and someone posts a note telling me to read my boss’s note saying that it was sent out and stuff… all I could think of was, “hey, I’m just doing what I’ve been told to do.” Which reminds me, I put in some suspends today and about 20 til the time I leave to go home, I got a phone call from someone in another devison asking if I checked any of the files that was suspened… all I could tell her was that I was just doing what I’ve been told to do and that’s that, so she’s going to call back 2morrow to my boss instead and see what’s happening.
Anyways, I think I took up enough time for one night, going to bitch some other day, so goodnight my good little boys and girls, and don’t party too hard.
