What’s Wrong With Today’s Youth?
Alright, this has been bugging me for awhile now, what is up with today’s youth? Don’t know what I’m talking about? Well let me put it to you this way. I FEEL FUCKEN OLD, THAT’S WHAT!
Gez, only 22 years old and with today’s youth making me feel like I’m 40, that’s just great. Using new made up Internet lingo by the second, having to look it up on Google to see what it means just makes me feel old.
But it’s just not the Internet lingo that’s making me feel old, it’s also the taste of music and movies that those youngins sees nowadays. Sure, there’s quite a bit of good movies and music out there but what’s wrong with listening to a little bit of Bon Jovi or The Beetles? Or watching E.T., or The Navigator? A lot of today’s youth will just tilt there head and be like, "who are they" or "that movie is so old, it’s not even in high def."
What I don’t get, as well, is that they get a drivers license and a car and now they think they’re king (or queen) of the road. I remember when I first got my license thinking that now I can drive to school and work without having to rely on anyone, which is all I really needed it for, unless I want to hang out with someone. Now they get a license and first thing they do is drive all crazy trying to make themselves look "cool."
Another example of this fact is when I was trying to get out of a parking lot, there was a 4 way stop, I thought it was my turn to go so I started going tusk cutting off this one chick who was trying to turn (by mistake of course) and all she did the whole time she was behind me was honking her horn. I would of gotten the point the first time if she just honk once but because she was honking the whole time I felt like getting out of the car, walk to her car, and yell at her for being an ignorant bitch. How did I know it was a teenage girl? I had a buddy in the car with me and when I was making a left turn onto the freeway they drove past us on the right (still honking her horn when pasting by). Gez, whenever anyone cuts me off I just honk once to let them know to pay more attention.
Maybe one of these days I’ll take my laptop to a local hotspot by this one High School I live by and actually see what today’s youth are doing outside of the Internet and driving. Maybe even just going to the mall’s food court and report back my findings (probably a lot of different fashion trends). But for now, I’ll end it with that.

I have to agree with you on all the points! I know I’m just a few years older than you and I tend to use alittle lingo like the youngins do and at least I tell you what it is if you’re not sure because its lame to put out something somebody doesn’t know and make them go look it up!
Eh I didn’t get my driver’s license until I was almost 22 years old! (that helped with the insurance HUGELY but I still got raked for insurance cuz I was under 25 and long before I was even 25 I had my first wreck not at fault didn’t count, 2nd time was a big loss my fault wow that took 3 years, oh then the year before I could get my rate lowered I again got a ticket so ended up on the high risk again! I believe my 3 years is coming up for my latest so my fingers crossed!)
Anyway… you might be surprised at what you’ll find youngins doing… they’re all listening to music that have swear words, sex talk, depression, whatever you want to name!
I think I told you a bit about my brother, and really you two should meet SOMEDAY! Because HE likes Bon Jovi, my parents did/too (well they’re divorced now) infact my brother likes Anime which most teens I don’t think care for??? I haven’t seen any teens really into anime (maybe 10 years ago, but not now?!)
My brother only 15, saved up so much money he bought himself a nice 1998 Pontiac 2 door coupe with only 32,000 miles on it for $3k he likes muscle cars and likes to go fast (so we’ve warned him A LOT about that, crashes, police, etc the good news he’ll never drink beer so no DUIIs)
The young think they got it all… don’t need the parents or have parents who don’t care. Its not just the young though I could go on and on… and I’m not picking on your age but sadly your age group (including MINE) are crippling this generation and I’ll explain why:
we’ve had a 1/2 million dollar insurance claim on water damage to our house last summer when an unexpected storm literally rained in the house as we had no roof at the time we’ve had LOTS of contractors come and go because A) they couldn’t do the work correctly and couldn’t accept the criticism that my mom put out (she isn’t a contractor but she knows when something isn’t right and she’ll put it in your face) then they walk off the job never finishing it… or we’ll call about getting parts or supplies or getting a new contractor they call and say “we’re interested” but never follow up.. what the FUCK is up with this?!
