HOA Parked on Street Violation?

Submitted by on January 18, 2014 – 6:44 pm

So the other day I received this letter from my HOA.

violation_letter

I started laughing my ass off because those 2 vehicles are not mine nor my roommates. So I sent the girl a lovely email:

So let me get this straight. My roommate parked his 2006 Tahoe across the street in front of my house for 2 months with no license plate (it’s long gone now, you’re welcome) but my neighbor parks his mitsubishi and ford in front of my house for 24 hours and you automatically assumes it’s mine?

I seriously think you guys are trolling me at this point. No way in my right mind would I drive a mitsubishi in the first place let alone park on the street. And that Ford, it’s not my style of van to drive, in fact I wouldn’t even be driving a van since I don’t have kids. Do you guys not even do a DMV license plate search first before sending out this bullshit notice? Cause you can go to them with the plate # and get the records since it’s public information.

Besides, that Ford been parked on the street for about 9 months now and you’re now just getting to it? And sending the notice to the wrong person no less!

What exactly would you like me to do about other people’s vehicles anyways? Have it tow away? I can’t unless it’s on my property or blocking my driveway access by law. Since its nether, good luck with dealing with the right owners of getting them to not park on the street.

It honestly feels like a year and a month ago all over again. It feels like you’re personally attacking me. Is it my life style? Is it because I’m late on my HOA payments (which is cause by current work situation)? What? It makes me glad that I’m in the process of moving out and getting the house ready to list onto the market, don’t want to live in a community that doesn’t know how to do their research before sending out noticed (honestly, not that hard, one phone call to the DMV).

If you want to complain about something, complain about something I have control over like my yard (which is clean) or about my roommate parking on the rocks (like he is, a little bit), but not something I have no control over.

tl;dr the Mitsubishi Endeavor license # AMM4863 and Ford Econoline license # ANB2762 are not anyone in this household (not mine nor my roommates).

FYI, that Ford Econoline is not white, it’s green, whoever been going around taking your pictures or listing up the violations need his eyes checked. And the photo ID number that I was provided with doesn’t even work.

Needless to say, the lady at the HOA probably won’t like me at all.
